Completely agree on everything -thanks for this. But: Cleopatra *was* obviously white, an Hellenistic and white queen of a multicultural and extremely mixed up land. The non-white Egyptian civilization was as old for Cleopatra as Cleopatra is for us, but not even them considered race a factor in religion. There is one exception, though: the Afrikaans Protestant Church of South Africa claims that racism is a religious duty. It’s the only example I can think of when I read such appalling statements from Trump’s USA.
